Excel series guides can take on rods from 30 lbs to unlimited class Large wide wind-on opening to accommodate large leaders No metal-to-metal contact eliminates noise, vibration & premature wear Excel guides come in Ball Bearing Assembly or our Deep Drop Assembly
This exacerbates backlashing as the narrow line guide channel often limits how fast the line can leave the reel, and is particularly a problem when the line guide stops near the side of the reel when the reel gears are disengaged during casting
Reels without the level wind function are typically used for heavier saltwater fishing or surf fishing
